It's a funny Universe that we live in, and let's face it, we are creatures of finite perception. We our forced by the limits on our senses to generalize things into oversimplifications. We are virtually never fed all the details that form an unbroken chain of evidence. Instead, we use the pattern-matching, associative, "fuzzy logic" power of the human brain to match our impressions with whatever rules seem to blanket our experiences.
