Ventura was a third party candidate elected to the Minnesota gubernatorial office in 1998. He promoted the third party as necessary for the large U.S. population and said the two-party system “is great — it gives us one more choice than Russia.”

What freedoms are at risk?

• Our Choice of Government. We never had a Republican President in the United States before Abraham Lincoln... why should we now be shackled to an entrenched bipartisan establishment?  That's the same system that Ralph Nader described as "a duopoly between Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber!"  If Nader perchance doesn't run for the Green Party this next election, I may just vote Libertarian .  Would I be "assisting" one of the bipartisan favorites?  Don't you believe it!--Such a vote, even in defeat, is a protest vote against the entrenchment.  (It's not the first time a president won by minority vote!Perhaps some day it will be the last.)
• Our Freedom of Speech.  Where do I start?
• Content Discrimination.  Ralph Nader was the only presidential candidate I've heard address the pertenant issue of Content Discrimination. When Cable Services and Internet Service Providers can dictate who will be heard according to their private financial interests, anticompetitive behavior erodes our free speech.
• Intellectual Property.  Congress has the option, not the obligation, to award patents and trademarks for the encouragement of creativity in art and science.  Copyright laws wrestle the issue of "fair use," a topic further obfuscated by the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA).  Does it make a lick of sense that law enforcement becomes a crutch for a corporation, and then a linch mob, when Dmitry Sklyarov is jailed for months in the States, and his employers tried in court, for demonstrating the weakness of Adobe's "theft prevention device"?  The scale of lost freedom is staggering!
